The world's largest online retailer, Amazon.com Inc., launched the all-new tablet on September 28, 2011. The tablet is called the Amazon Kindle Fire and will be available in the market on November 15, 2011.
Operating System: Amazon fire tv runs on a customized version of Android 2.3 OS, while Apple iPad 2 running iOS 4.3.1. Without getting too technical, the two operating systems is comparable, with some differences.

However, with a combination of cloud-accelerated browser new divisions, Amazon Silk, the web experience on the Kindle is expected to have advantages in terms of speed and performance.
Processor: Kindle Fire using TI OMAP 4 dual-core processor, while the iPad 2 uses a dual-core A5 processor Apple. Both the processor has a speed of 1 GHz, therefore, they are quite comparable in terms of speed.
Memory & Storage: the first generation Kindle Fire has limited storage space in 8 GB and do not have the option to increase this storage (ie does not have a microSD slot). However, the iPad 2 has a wide selection of memory storage, ie, 16, 32 and 64 GB. Having said so, Amazon provides free online storage space through the Amazon cloud for digital content such as apps, music, movies, books and games.
